  1. I wanna shave this movie I got that has big black borders, how could i go about this??

    any information would be deeply apreciated!

    You could also use TMPGEnc. Under the Advanced Tab next to Video arrange Method, select "No margin (keep aspect ratio). :P

  4. I don't believe you understand...

    I'm not trying to encode the movie, I have an already encoded movie that I would like to crop to a smaller size (cut off the black borders). They are already there so how can i get rid of them?

    You can't crop the movie without re-encoding it. Sorry! It doesn't work that way. That is like saying you want to crop a photograph (.jpg, .gif, or whatever) without re-saving it.

    It sure doesn't work that way. Sorry, but your going to need to re-encode again!

    I understand that the movie will have to be reencoded but my question is .....

    Is there a way to cut out the black borders that already exist, bofore I encode the movie once again?

    i think you wanmt to crop then resize using vd resizing filter...after selecting crop in vd cut out the border then add resize. you may have to select null transform to access the crop function it usuall only works if you select a filkter. i did this a few times with wide screen movies but did not like the result it looked streched.maybe you will have better luck

  10. thanx frank, I figured it out but I may still need some help....

    I don't know how to configure the settings for the divx codec, what should the VARIABLE BITRATE MODE and the ENCODING BITRATE be? I using the div-x 5.0.3 codec.

    You should use 2-Pass as your encode mode.
