Hi all. I have just started downloading XVID movies (with AC3 sound) and making my own SVCDs. I have been playing around and can get a fairly good quality SVCD but the video is slightly jerky on my standalone DVD player (it does support NTSC and PAL). I have looked at various threads and guides and want to ask what is the best way to make a SVCD and in what format from a XVID movie. All the movies I download are 23.976fps. I have read in various threads that it is better to use PAL as the colour is generally better. I wanted to ask what is the best way of going about creating SVCDs from these movies? I have used TMPGEnc to create NTSC films and find the number of options slightly overwhelming. The option I used to create the SVCDs was 23.976fps (internally 29.97fps) and I selected it as a Film Movie (which I read was best). I have been told I can use TMPGEnc to change the Encode Mode to Non-Interlace so that the movie is encoded at 23.976fp, and that this will cure the slight jumpiness that I seem to be getting. Shall I just stick to NTSC SVCDs or shall I use PAL? Is the colour difference particularly noticeable? And whether I use NTSC or PAL what are the best settings in TMPGEnc (i.e. what fps settings as I am getting confused by all these)? OR is there a completely better way to do it. I have read the guides for newbies and conversion and I am still not sure what is best to do!!! Thanks.![]()
