  1. Its a basic question but how do u know how your mpg1 was encoded when you downloaded a file from the internet(winmx).

    I wanna if my file is interlaced or not
    if its Ntsc film or just plain ntsc
    the dimensions of the mpg
    etc...

  3. Well VDub or analyse MPEG in VCDeasy will tell you some of this. But there's really no way to know 'what the source' is. You can find out the bitrate, resolution and framerate. And if it's 23.976 that's a good bet it's from a film.

    But people encode (esp DivX) in some really odd ways (eg. 320x240 15fps at 300kbit/s) so who knows what the source is/was.

    its easy -- mpeg1 is always progressive .. doesnt support interlaced ..
