  1. I have been unable to hack the registry on WinDVR2 to change the MPEG-1 VCD bitrate from 1090. I would LOVE to be able to modify the default 'good', 'better', best' settings to ones that I like. I could go back to Powervcr but the intervideo windvr enocoder is much better than cyberlinks.

You just go into CUSTOMIZED/PROFILES then duplicate whichever default u want. Then change whichever settings you want .

Although I'm surprised you say it's better than PowerVCR2!!
    Do you mean for mpeg1?

Cos for Mpeg2 I find PowerVCR2 much better using high bitrates.
Cyberlink PowerDirector 2.5 Pro is even better with suport for avi too.

  4. MPEG-1 yes I like it better.

I can create one custom profile but I would like to modify the softwares 3 default settings in the profiles to my settings.

  6. I did hack the registry value for the 1090 and changed it to 1150. but when i re-opened windvr the value changed back to 1090. There is also a peak bitrate value of around 1800 which leads me to wonder if it is doing some VBR between 1090 and 1800?????m I might go back and play with powervcr again this weekend.
