  1. Any help is appreciated.

I am using Doom9's guide for splitting a dvd oonto 2 dvd-r's (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-2dvdrs.htm) and I keep running into the this problem.

I rip the dvd fine, split it fine (IFOEdit creates the disc1 and disc2), I make sure that each directory (disc1/disc2) has the VIDEO_Ts files (.ifo/.bup/.vob) that it needs and I make sure to put the VTS_01_0 files (.ifo/.bup/.vob) in each directory like the guide says. Next I do region free, remove user prohibitions and finally get VTS sectors.

And this is where my problem starts. I can burn the contents of the directory #2 (disc 2) using either Nero or ImgTools, but every time I try and burn folder disc1, nero keeps giving me this error (DVD-Video files reallocation started/failed) and ImgTools says it cant find the Video_TS folder.

Anybody have any ideas what I am doing wrong. If anybody has any info it would appreciated.

By the way the movie is Almost Famous

    thanks

  2. I think your problem is that you did not create a dir named "VIDEO_TS" which is required by the DVD format. Use my guides which I feel are more clear than the others floating around the net

  3. graysky,

I tried your guide exactly point by point and I still get the same error message when I try to burn with Nero (or something else).

    Any ideas?

  4. doshi,

with nero, select UDF/ISO instead of a DVD Video project.....try that....also make sure UDF version 1.05 is selected....and Xbox complient is checked if you are using v5.5.10.0 of Nero.

hope that helps....I dont know the technical reason but after splitting movies in IFOEdit Nero and Stomp Record Now and Prassi give an error when using the Video project where DVD file structures are enforced.

EDIT: Doshi, I found this thread....may better explain it
