    i'd like to join and/or split *.avi files (xvid encoded).
    what software can do this without re-encoding or re-compressing?
    where can i find it?

    just use AVISplit that can be found from this site in the tools section. I requires nandub to run so u need that too. Works great at spliting any avi files.
