Hello, I am looking for information about the 9700 All-in-Wonder card. It only allows capturing in mpeg-1, mpeg-2, or ATI avi codecs? Is that just a limitation of using the ATI software? I need a capture card for LD and VHS captures that I wish to transfer to DVD. I would preferrably like to capture uncompressed, or slightly compressed, AVIs, edit and filter them, and THEN convert to mpeg-2. My LD player only has composite output...I understand the 9700 AIW claims to improve composite signals compared to other cards. How would the capture quality of the AIW compare to other capture solutions? I could use the pass through of a Sony DV cam but that seems like more of a hassle every time I wish to capture some footage; would it yield better quality though? I do not know if I like the idea of having an all-in-one soultion as my computer has only one AGP slot, just in case I want to keep up with the 3D for gaming. Are the capturing aspects of ATI cards all the same, even for their PCI versions? Thanks for any help!
