  1. i have a avi movie that i want to recode..........
    but when i load it in to vurtualdub i get this error

    so i can uncompress it so i have a 800 meg audio file
    then i go to here

    so i go there and set to rencode the audio the you click the compression link to take you to

    am i doing this right ????? is compression the same as changing the bitrate i no sure it is but this is what i need help with because i just recompress all the audio goes out off sync can anyone help me with this!!!

    I noticed that your PCM is only highlited. Click on it, and you should see info. in the bottom right, Format information block. Depending on what you're encoding for (you've gotta be more specific), the conversion should match your final output (ie audio 16-bit and 41khz for SVCD or VCD). Hopefully, your audio is already sampled at that rate. If not, use the conversion. Otherwise a straight recompress to .wav should do the trick.

    Just to double check that everything is in synch before it goes to the encoder, remerge the .AVI with the uncompressed PCM audio. If it's in synch at this point, then you're off to the races. If not, then check the guides to the left on conversion...............

    what do you mean encoding for this is what the fist cd is

    the original video sourse has a 48000 hz and my audio thats recompressed is 44100 hz will this make the diferance all i am changing is the audoi the video stays the same rate as source
