i have an xvid that is cbr 1150 i want to put it on dvd if i reencode it at lets say 6000 cbr is it even going tomake a differnce from the 1150 since the source is 1150

xvid is different than an mpg. an xvid with a bitrate of 1150 is not the same as a mpg with the same bitrate. it should be ok if you use a higher mpg bitrate than the xvid file.
