i need help, badly...![]()
i try to use a hauppauge PVR-250, the reason that i put it in my computer was that it seemed to be a good card that you can pause live tv, and to record mpg2 streams with a hardware encoder. just a few qustion on that.. using wintv2000 (that crappy software that follows the card) i live in sweden, have PAL system but can use NTSC also..
1. can i record to SVCD format directly using the onboard encoder and then use vcdeasy, nero or other program to burn the file into a cdr and play it into my dvd??
2. why do i get "stripes" on the left in the picture when i recording in 480x576 at any config?? (that was a horrible supprise when i start watching my recorded movie, just getting 3/4 of the film clearly)
3. is there a better, more userfriendly software then winTV2000 for this card?? i must have missed a lot of things, cos my version of wintv (have installed it in all kinda ways and downloaded the latest drivers/updates) doesn't at all behaive that the picture on the box or the support site says.. i can't change preset, (wich isn't that bad but hard to remember which channel number the differents program is on) i don't even have that "box" to check in my suite manager.. and this nice RC (remote control in the software NOT the IR) where's that?? i don't got that thing either..
4. is there a way to take snapshot (image captures) with the remote controll (the IR)??, man that sucks nearly even more than the program does, i mean the thing you use a remote is that you DON'T get up from the sofa to get things done
things that DO work is if i set the quality at dvd or higher like 8-10mbit/s in 720x576 the pause live tv function works relly great (well a few bump but hey no complain) and the record looks REALLY nice but in that mode i have to encode using software like tmpgenc to get it into cdr (SVCD). it's a huge file so it take a lot of time..
my first impression of this card is.. could have been really, really great if it weren't that crappy software, who have done that, and do they really take charges for it.. no it's not userfriendly at all.. gives me headache..![]()
