I got my 8500DV up and running. I've use power vcr due to the recommendations i got from this forum. So far the quality has been good and the program is easy to use. I have only one issue with it. When I capture using the DVD setting, the program automatically splits it into 600mb segments. I was wondering if there is anyway to disable this. I've already looked in the help file and it says this:
"Info: Because of the inherent limitations of the Windows operating system in handling files over 2 GB, PowerVCR will automatically save and chunk your video files into 600 MB files if the file's size is over this limit. Thus, when you select the appropriate playlist for playback, all the chunked files will play continuously like a single file."
I've never had an issue with files over 2gb. Its really annoying because when I convert to VCD I have to spend extra time merging the file.
Thanks

Edit the registry. There is a max recording limit setting you can change. I went with WindDVR cuz it has a better encoder.
