Is there a software method to keep my captured DV footage from splitting at each start/stop of the camcorder? I am copying a few DV tapes to my HD via USB using WinDV. Since the clips are very short & numerous, I hate having to join each AVI file before I can encode to MPEG-2. I will not need fancy edits, just some cut & splice.
Am I missing a setting in WinDV that makes it start a new file name for every start/stop of the camcorder ? Should I use a different capture software ? I use Canopus Edius to edit. Is there a batch import that I am missing ?
BTW, I HAVE changed the setting in WinDV so that there is no file splitting at a certain size, so that's not it.
What am I doing wrong ?
