  1. coudl someone please help me , i have a pioneer dvd player and an xbox
    i tried copying my dvds on cassettes but everytime as soon as i press record the movie starts to dim , then come off for a while then on bright then the same thing over and over. can anyone help me with that please. i would be vey grateful

  2. It's called Macrovision proection. Search the DVD Players list over there on the left, identify your player and see if there is a hack for your player that will disable the Macrovision.

    What you are seeing is macrovision copy protection. Some players have programming hacks that can defeat it, so do your research.

  6. if you can't remove macrovision from your player, there are only two solutions that come in my mind:
    - if you have a dvd-rom and a video card with tv out, rip the movie removing macrovision then play the vobs from your pc
    - buy another player .....
    ah, you can buy one of those boxes that do the job, but i don't know if they work well.

  8. The "Boxes" that is referred to in one of the posts DO work, i have one myself, i used it for copying from VHS to VHS cause commercial VHS-Tapes also use macrovision. You simply go out of your DVDplayer with a SCART Cable -> into the "Box" -> from the "Box" to the VCR, and start recording, thats all. That little thingy only costs a few bucks.
