  1. hi, please advice.

i want to make an svcd, using vcdeasy.

i have some video files. some are mpeg1 encoded with 1120 kbps bitrate, others are mpeg2 with 3000 and 4000 kbps bitrates.

can it pose any problem while authoring svcd, can i directly select them in the menu and make the BIN file ??? or do i have to make sure they all hav the same resolution/bitrates/encoding.

    pls adv, thanks in advance..

You can't put MPEG-1/2 on the same CD-R. It either has to be all MPEG-1 files or all MPEG-2 files.

No, they can be different resolutions and have different bitrates but they all have to be either MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.

If you want to make a proper standards-compliant SVCD you must use MPEG2 at 480x480 for NTSC or 480x576 for PAL. The combined audio and video bitrate needs to be less than 2748k. 352x480/576 is also pretty well supported, and many players will support bitrates above 2748k.

A standards-compliant VCD requires MPEG1 at 352x240 NTSC or 352x288 PAL with a video bitrate of 1150k and an audio bitrate of 224k.

For more information on the requirements for a correct VCD/SVCD look at the "what is vcd" and "what is svcd" links at the left.
