  1. So I want to archive my HDTV content to DVDR. I am using TMPEnc, HDTV2MPG, and DVDit! PE.

    Here is where I am:

    - I capture on my AccessDTV Card. Use HDTV2MPG to merge my .ts files, into 1GB files.
    - I then use TMPEnc to convert into DVD Spec Files mpv/mpa 's

This is where the wheels are coming off. I need to get the DVD Compliant specs for WIDESCREEN 16:9 DVD Material, or the setup file to use from someone. There is a setting somewhere I am missing..

I wanted to post here before beating my brains out searching for the missing variable in my encoder. Thanks in advance if you are willing to share your TMPEnc settings that work.

  2. Ok, someone out there must have a clue.

The problem seems to be the EOF message on the muxed .ts files. I have tried HDTV2MPG v1.07, 1.09, and 1.10.. all seem to have the same problem though.

    Anyone else trying this?

unmux your original transport streams - i use bbtools demux for this, dont know about that program you mention .. i never had a problem. Though i dont split them up - no need to ..

    source would be 16:9 720 or 480 progressive most likely .. so w/ tmpgenc , source progressive , 16:9 ratio . output DVD 16:9 8000, 5000, 2000 VBR , frame rate 23.97 , 3:2 pulldown on playback ..

  4. I will find the bbtools and take a look.. I do need to break them up.. the total size of the HD Broadcast is ~ 47 GB.. Thanks for the direction though..

What version of bbtools are you currently using - I have - v107 , that seems to do the same thing as HDTV2MPG though

I thought that the AccessDTV card was encrypted.

    version 1.9 i guess it is ..

whats wrong with 47gig anyway ... i work with 100's of gig size files .. i would encode it all first then cut it up as it needs to be ..

the main concept encoder is perfect doing this .. you set output size and it splits it up as its encoding w/ audio in sync ..

  8. So maybe I am not saying it correctly..

    Original HDTV Content
    43 x 1GB .ts files

    TMPEnc 2.5 Plus
.ts -> mpv/mpa DVD spec element files

STOP! we have a problem, the encoded mpv/mpa files have 5-13 seconds of video at the end of the clip. ie - the video/audio stops as it should, but there is addition video in the clip - ie the clock keeps running, just showing the last frame. It does this on every file.

    How do I correct that?

did you try to use source range in tmpgenc ? cut off the last frame in each part ... or couple frames , well its not really cut off but use range select before encode and slide the bar all the way to the end and back up a few frames ...
