  1. Hi, I recently made two SVCDs from DVD rips of Death to smoochy and black hawk down, of which i used two different guides for. The one on this site for smoochy and the one for black hawk on www.dvdripguides.com. The conversion process went fine for both and there didn't seem to be any problems untill i put it into my standalone DVD player. It skips when it's playing, plays then stops for a second, plays then stops, play, stop, play, stop... it works fine on my computer though. i'm begining to think that my DVD player doesn't play SVCDs, but i know it does VCDs. which is why i used two guides, because i thought somthing was wrong with the way i did it or somthing. i looked at a problem similar to this and i think a reply was to change the "field order" in TMPEnc (which i used), that didn't seem to change anything. if anybody can help me on this i would appricate it.

Check and see if your DVD player supports SVCD. Look under DVD Players to your left.
May the force be with you.

Anytime you look in the DVD Players section to check compatability Please, Please, Please read the associated reports and comments also. Most of the time the reports and comments provide additional information. For the RV32 there were many reports of people not being able to play SVCDs. Ben King described your particular problem precisely: "When i tried to play a normal svcd it jerked constantly...". Furthermore he said "The player does play svcd's but i have to use the header trick (www.vcdeasy.org)." So, try the VCD Header trick and that will quite probably get it working (although I guess technically you will be producing a XSVCD.)
