Hi, ripped a japanese dvd with dvd2dvdr. going to author with Maestro, go to import subtitles, and it needs either a .scr, .stl, or .son . My subtitle file is a .sup. Is there a conversion tool out there? how do I continue from here?
Thanks

better using subrip.
you will have to rip your vobs to hdd then rip the subs to create your bmp and your .son file to go with them.
it doesnt take long to do.
along with the .son file you will get a .spf file which allows you get the original colours in maestro.

Speaking of the sub title subject, can one use sub-rip to import
to spruce-up?thats what i use sometimes... -
can i do anything with them now? I do not have the dvd anymore, can I convert the file at all?

if you havent got the dvd you will have to author in ifoedit.
dvd2dvdr leaves you a m2v, ac3, .sup and celltimes with which you can put into ifoedit.
its not my first choice when it comes to authoring but thats the only option your left with.
www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ifoedit-dvdauthor.htm
read near the bottom of the page where it starts the authoring.
