I am intrigued & need your help. As we all (?) know, the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250 can usually only capture MPEG using the WinTV 2000 application & related software but not with most common capturing apps.
I have the new Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 and just tried the capture module. Surprise but it does allow you to selevt the 250 as a capture source! It seems very buggy but you can see the presets used in WinTV 2000 and it does try (and failed for me). It seems to want to try AVI cap even though the card should tell the software only MPEG can be captured.
Anyone with this app and card - can you assist in working to see if Ulead has worked to enable capture with this card? Maybe it is a work in progress as MF1 was included with the PVR 250. Steve? SHS? Baldrick?

Kitty:
I have the trial version of DMF2. DMF1 is one of my favorite apps (very simple and streamlined) and I can't wait to try your experiment with DMF2 once I get my PVR-250 installed properly.
Makes sense if DMF1 is included in the package (although DMF1 never did capturing) that they may be interested in getting DMF2's capture to work. -
kitty ther very few 3rdparty app that can make use of Hardware MPEG capture card 99% of 3rdparty where made for AVI or aka YUV stream unless the 3rdparty maker made a plug-in drv to interface the hardware like in a few DVD Authoring Software have.
Dose the PVR 250/350 supoort AVI as matter fact it dose but the video is macroblocked so it need rearranging both Conexant and Hauppauge are working on fixing this in tell then you have use the hardware mpeg encoder side of the chip.
It just matter of time in tell we see them and that going make a lot people happy at lese thoses with a Console Box that need real time perviewing instad of real time mpeg perviewing which has a small delay in the video. -
I never expected DMF2 to support the card - I was just looking at the Firewire capture capability and it showed the PVR250 card in the list and it allowed MPEG capture but it looks like it is not fully implemented.
