  1. OK, first check out my puter specs. I have my ati aiw 7500 dvi out to my hdtv dvi in. I am using my hdtv as my monitor. Of course it sees it as digital monior. The problem I am having is that the tv overscans the puter's display about 10% on all sides. The pic quality is awsome, just can't see all of display. Is there a tool out their made to correct this overscan. I don't need need a new resolution, just something that will correct the overscan. When I use s-video and unplug the dvi from tv, the screen fits perfect. Just not as high of quality of dvi. I am currently using the s-video on my hdtv as my primary monitor with my dvi disconected becuase that let me see everything. My tv is a 51" Hitachi that I recently purchased. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 8)

Try using 640 x 480 for the DVI because usually most VGA or DVI inputs on HDTV's are only 640 x 480. Even though s-video can output to 800 x 600, I'm pretty sure DVI's can only go to 640 x 480. Otherwise if that doesn't work, make sure you got the newest drivers from ATI or if your HDTV is widecreen make sure it's on the right format (ex. zoom, natural, standard).

  3. DVI connection can handle the max resolution of the hdtv ie 1080i. I currently have it set to 800x600 with the s-video and get a good resolution. Turning it to 640x480 makes the screen size too big. A DVI connection is the best possible digital connection out right now, so it is way better than s-video. I'm not having problems with my s-video connection. I am having problem's with the DVI connection. When connected to the DVI, no matter what my resolution, my overscans the screen, which cuts out about 10% of the veiwing are on all of the corners of my desktop. The reason I want this DVI connection to work over the s-video is because through the DVI, the picture quality is superb. As to where with the s-video, it's good. If anyone else has tryed this or knows of a software tool that I can use to correct the overscaned area of my display, please let me know. Thanks

  4. For the ATI AIW 128, there is TV display settings on the ATI Icon on the Windows toolbar that allows you to adjust the vertical and horizontal TV display. Have you tried changing those settings?
