  1. Hi all, I just received two 50 pack spindle of my ACCU DVDR's from cdrdvdrmedia.com and I just ran ADVDINFO on a good percentage of the blanks from both spindles. The results were pretty interesting. Something to note though first, is that I ordered a 100 pack spindle, and they sent me 2 50 pack spindles. The reason that is interesting is because the two 50 pack spindles are from different manufacturers. I tested about 15 disks from each of the spindles. 5 from each the top, middle, and bottom. The first spindle when checked with ADVDINFO is manufactured by SONY.
However, when I tested the second spindle, it showed "LEAD DATA."

    ADVDINFO gave me this:

    00 6A 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 87 0D 13 .J...@....P.....
    88 99 80 00 03 4C 65 61 64 20 44 00 04 61 74 61 .....LEAD D..ATA
    20 20 20 00 05 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 .............
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................

The difference between that and the first spindle is basically where it says lead data, it said SONY. I am assuming the SONY are better quality, and that is why I only received 50, but I'm just curious how good or bad lead data are? Is lead data a manufacturer? I'm thinking that I will burn the SONY'S at 2x and maybe the lead data at 1x to be safe..does that make sense? I do remember though, someone posting a little while back on this forum about lead data's seeming to be just as good as SONY. If anyone can give me a little more info on this, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks

  2. I have burned 50 Accu Lead D Ata from cdrdvdrmedia.com and have nothing but excellent succes with them. I have an order that I will be getting Friday of 50 Accu's with cases. I was hoping they will be the same as before. Since you got these hopefully I will also, again. I think they are great disc's. Using my 104 burner with firmware 1.31. Burn at 1x. Was think of using a hacked firmware to burn the Accu's at 2x but haven't since If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It (applies). I am more than happy right now taking under an hour to burn my backups, never had any trouble. These seem to be highly compatible also. Family and friends have no trouble with Apex, Panasonic, JVC, Lasonic, Toshiba players. I try to create an image then burn with DVD Decrypter. Hope you have the success I have.

That is the problem... Will you ? With these un-marked "silver top/purple bottom" discs you can't be sure what did you get. One way to check was ADVDInfo, but there are different feedbacks, so how can you be sure that they sent you what you asked for ? A guess that is that difference between $0.70 and $3.00 for disc.

  4. @ bugande, thanks..that is music to my ears. I just burned my very first "SONY" ACCU of LOTR which was one of the few movies my VERBATIM DVD+R's had some freezing on at the end. I burned it at 2X also and it came out PERFECT! No freezing at the end of the disk like on the VERBATIM DVD+R and I couldn't be happier. What a GRRREATT way to start off! Even better is your reports with those LEAD DATA, however, since you have had your success at 1x, I'm thinking I will burn those at 1x, but maybe i'll experiment with 2X to try one or two. Things are lookin' excellent!

  5. Is anyone else having issues with the SONY id media? My first few were like was posted, rock solid at 2x no issues. However as I near the end of my spindle I'm having repeated failures, whether at 1x or 2x. I'm trying a Ritek g03 as we speak to see if I have better luck.
