I'm trying to back up The Matrix but having problems importing my ac3 file into DVDMaestro. It begins to parse for a second or two and then I get an error reading: Cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data might be corrupted. (0xc1070042). I ripped the movie only in file mode with DVDDecrypter, frameserved with DVD2AVI with audio set to demux. If I set audio to decode, Maestro accepts the wav file just fine. I also can convert the wav to ac3 with Besweet and Maestro will accept that also, but then I lose the surround. Anyone have suggestions on how I can keep the surround sound?

*Exactly* the same problem here. I thought I had a corrupted copy of The Matrix.
I wonder what is going on?

I'm pretty sure the copy is not bad because I've tried it with two different source discs. I also tried demuxing the audio with DVD Decrypter with the same result.

Same thing here.
I've tried to ifo them first or even creating ifo's then using DVD2AVI with new ifo's same result. I'm completely confused because I'm doing the samething I've done on about 15 others, and now this problem, consistantly. I'm using the "DVD2 DVDR For beginners guide". Please help

try processing the ac3 file with ac3fix.exe (link in the tools section) before importing.

I have had the same problem. On some movies using dycrypter one cannot move the file into maestro. It says it is out of sync. The remedy I have used is to re -rip the movie using smartripper. It works flawlessly after that.

I have also had recent luck- and it wasn't ac3fix.exe- I've been using decrypter in ISO format, then DVD2AVI and import my audio .ac3 to maestro and let it parse. Then at that point if need be I process the video down to size with tmpgenc. and then import my video in.WORKS GREAT!! Some where I read maestro cannot accept muti-lang audio so that is the reason I try this, if I used ifo to accomplish the -remove the fat- process I would still see the out of snyc error.

Update:
As it turns out, my problem was that I hadn't realized that "The Matrix" has seamless branching that I hadn't removed. As a result everything was jakked. After removing seamless branching w/ IFOEdit, it's all good. 8) -
I just did Matrix using file mode for the main movie in DVD decryptor set to ONE ANGLE, then DVD2avi demux, Vafapi conv, CCE, and Maestro. Worked well.
