  1. Hello,

A growing number of dvd players can actually play
dvd-vcd and dvd-svcd, that is, as far as I know,
vcd's or svcd's that have been burnt in a dvd.

However, I'd like to ask: Has anyone tried to
burn a XVCD or XSVCD to a DVD successfully?
By successfully I mean playing it on the dvd player.

I also mean no editing, that is, no converting from
xvcd to vcd or xsvcd to svcd, since then we would
    get a dvd-vcd or dvd-svcd and I'd like to get a
    DVD-XVCD or DVD-XVCD.

I guess this might be dvd player dependent.

    Thank you in advance!

    Luis

"dvd-XVCD" and "dvd-XSVCD" should work fine. DVD supports mpeg1 and mpeg2 video and if the resolution is within the dvd standard it should be fully dvd compatible (you must change the audio to 48 khz).

  3. Hello Baldrik,

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes, that's why I was asking. Since anything X is out of
the standard (but within the DVD standard I guesss), I
    was wondering.

    In my case:

    pure VCD:
    352*288

    XVCD:
    video: 2035 kbs (fine bitrate for a 100min cd-r)
    audio: 128 kbs

Do you think that would fit _within_ DVD?

BTW, does changing the audio from 41.100 to 48000
    imply audio and video desynchronization?

*Thank you* in advance for your reply,

    Luis

  4. It should work just fine, sunmanking!
352*288 is a legal PAL DVD resolution, and bitrate is ok too!

BTW, does changing the audio from 41.100 to 48000
    imply audio and video desynchronization?
resampling from 41.100 to 48000 should not desynchronize the video and audio, just make sure you do it the way described in the guides on vcdhelp.com, to make sure you don't loose to much quality, or risk audio and video desynchronization.

    Good luck!
