Hi all. OK, I'm trying to rip a DVD (The Up In Smoke Tour) to VCD using Smartripper and DVDx. I've successfully done several DVDs this way before so I'm familiar with the basics. With this DVD, the rip goes fine and completes in Smartripper. Now on to the question...when I try to open the IFO file in DVDx I get "mpeg2dec error during initialization" and when you click OK the program exits. Has anyone seen this before? If so, do you know how to correct it?
I've searched the web and so far all I've been able to find is the following:
"Note that DVDx doesn't support all DVD features so you may get the "MPEG2Dec: Error during initialization" error when opening some index." Unfortunately, that does nothing to help me figure out the cause or the resolution of the problem. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on this one for me, it's driving me nuts!
Thanks in advance for any help.![]()

I think so, the last time I used V2 it was on the jurassic park, 3 disk set, it only could do 1 out of 3, but 1.7 did them all.

sorry my english...
don't forget version 1.8
i use 1.8 and works great, and after i use 2.0, that give me a problem, don't mak all the movie, stoping a about 80%, ou more of the job...
so, i install 1.8 and after 2.0 over 1.8...
after that, works great, using version 2.0...
i do not know why... but works great...
And never give a problem after that
