I'm trying to open an mpeg 2 tv capture from my Hauppauge PVR 250 and I've read that I need mpeg2dec.dll and DVD2AVI. I'm having some trouble finding mpeg2dec.dll. Is there a place to download this .dll? Or do I just keep Googling it? Thanks.

    Edit:
Ok nm, I think I found it.

The updated version of DVD2AVI is called DGIndex and it is coupled with DGDecode.dll in DGMPGDec package.

Cool thanks for the advice. Maybe you can help me with this problem I am having since I am pretty new to AVIsynth. I captured some TV clips like I said with my Hauppuage PVR. I originally tried to use directshowsource and go the error that I needed to put in framerate. I looked at them in Gspot and it says the frame rate was 29.97fps. So I then put that in as the parameter and it said it could not open it. I searched around and came across the mpeg2.dll and mpeg2source information. Then following your instructions, I downloaded DGIndex and put in the DGDecode.dll into my windows\system directory. I used DGIndex and opened my TV capture and saved it as a .d2v file. My .avs file looks like this:

    LoadPlugin("C:\windows\system\dgdecode.dll")
    MPEG2Source("C:\MyVideos\test.d2v")

and the error I get is unable to load d2v file. Any advice? Thanks.

Yes, you have to first make the D2V file referenced in the MPEG2Source line. Open the video in DGIndex and File->Save Project. It's all explained in the documentation included in the DGMPGDec package, especially the QuickStart Guide.
