  1. there has been a lot of discussion about the subtitles in movies that only appear from time to time (like when jaba the hut speaks in SW)

im trying to back up my Star wars episode 2. there are many subtitles tracks on there and to make things even more complicated they even put secondary subtitles ( i managed to figure out that the secondary subtitles are actualy the same as the primary one only that they apear on top of the screan instead of the bottom)

so after many observations i figured which subtitle stream i need (English2 in SW Episode 2 in case you were wondering)....

but i seem to have some sort of problem with putting them on the movie.

i used vob edit to get the subtitle (opened the vobs, demux, selected the stream, checked the full title set and saved) then i used ifo edit to put everything together....the movie is fine....but the subtitles are not there.

this is frustrating...at first i thought that it was an ifo edit issue but now im starting to think that maybe im not extracting those subtitles right...

any ideas out there...maybe you guys know of another subtitle extractor program out there that would extract to a .SUP format (since that is the format that ifo uses to author the dvd with subtitles)

    please help....

  2. subrip does .sup files.

have you not got maestro?. i did my starwars on it using subrip.
then in maestro just make the subs forced display.

im not an expert on ifoedit but is their not an option to make the subtitles forced caption.
