I assume the best way to author the files(after using dvd2dvd-r) to vob's is with ifo-edit,but how can i get subtitles?
After authoring the files, can i burn them with nero or are there a few more steps to go........?

you would have to use a authoring program that accepts subtitles like dvd mastreo. just make sure you save the subtitles when you load your dvd in to dvd2dvdr.

If you are ripping Pal Movies DVD2DVDR will rip and author the movies automatically with subtitles and chapters using ifoedit.
If you are ripping NTSC films you will need DVDMAESTRO to author along with Subrip and chapterxtractor. -
you are right,i'm ripping to pal movies so ifo-edit finishes the job indeed.
It works great, and the movie looks fine(including the subs)so thnx to all of you for your support!
