Audio with 2 channel?

Hi,
Anyone here know how to create a wav or audio file with 2 channel?
That mean a background music is placed on the right channel meanwhile the song is placed on the left channel or vice versa.
That mean after the file is created, i can always switch to anyone channel that i want when i play the file in PowerDVD and etc.

I am not the audio expert but I hope I can help. Go get Sonic Foundry Acid. HINT: try Kazaa. Or some other some what high end audio editing software and you should be able to do what you want.
