  1. Can anyone help me here.

On occasion I miss a show I like on tv <edited> and download that episode to watch. The downloaded files are usually .mpg files. Since I got a dvd burner I thought I would just put those onto a dvd-rw so that I can watch them on my tv instead of on the computer.

However, so far all the ones I downloaded (2 episodes of 24 and an episode of buffy) have not worked when trying to import them into my authoring software.

I've tried Spruceup and Maestro and both programs won't read the mpg file. Can anyone tell me a simple program that will work for this?

I don't need anything fancy, I just want to burn them as first run, watch them, then delete when I'm done.

On the same note, some files i've noticed are also in divx (avi) format. Will I be able to transfer those to dvd-video as well?

  2. They will rerun the episodes! Don't download them illegally. You can capture them when they are on again.

  3. Are you sure that those files are mpeg2 files? Generally downloaded files are Divx and even those files are mpeg2 files, they may have different resolution than DVD standard.

You need to demultiplex the mpg, with Tmpeg-Mpeg Tools, into there eleementary video and audio streams,m2v and mpa?. Also the video and audio streams must be DVD valid. Any authoring program will accept the m2v and mp? streams if there DVD compliant.

  5. Sometimes these files have 15 fps instead of 30 fps that is easier to encode to vcd.
