I just bought a TDK 228H DVD+R/RW drive and I was wondering if the Rips I make with it will work on a Panasonic DVD-CV52 DVD player. I looked at the DVD player section and people have wrote reviews say that they do work in mode 2, but not mode 1. What does that mean. Any help is appreciated!

Mode 2 means that you write a DVD-ROM flag to the disc instead of the DVD+RW flag to trick the DVD player to read the disc. This is done by a bitset util available here but it only works with writers based on Ricoh 5120/5125 (all 2.4x DVD+RW and 2.4x/2.4x DVD+R/RW writers which also writes to CD-R/RW in 12x/10x).
