dru500a 1.0f upgrade

can someone tell me what the hell im doing wrong here im trying to go to 1.0f but when i double click the installer for the fw upgrade my pc just restarts everytime so it wont let me do shit plus i disabled all the dma and dla shit and directcd all the stuff has been done but just keeps restarting my pc like i said any help please.

If I remember correctly, the program restarts your computer, then you are supposed to run it again before it upgrades your firmware, that's from what I remember. This was on xp

but it doesn't even install the 1.0f fw at all i cant figure it out at all. can someone tell me what im doing wrong. do i need to uninstall ecdc or what. i got rid daemon tools image drive and nero image and still at 1.0e fw so i dont know what to do.

Did you just get the Sony Drive? And did it come with FW 1.0e? Because when the e upgrade came out it was out for a very short time. Then f came out. e FW upgrade had problems installing. They fixed it and renamed it f. Mine came with c went to d then went to f.

When I installed f. I was in safe mode, it restarted then I installed FW upgrade after restarting. This was for XP.

I think e and f are the same?

You must first clicked the "confirm" button on the upgrade software. Then follow the direction and it will make you reboot first. Restart the upgrade program again and click the start upgrade button. It will then start the upgrade process and then reboot your computer again. the key is clicking the "confirm" button our your throw yourself in a reboot loop.

I had a problem installing 1.0f and it wouldn't install because of a Busmaster IDE Utility that came with my Epox motherboard , i uninstalled that and the firmware upgraded pronto , the drive died shortly after i reinstalled the busmaster utility. I recently replaced my primary master(boot ) drive while waiting on my replacement drive and did not install the IDE utility this time and the replacement is doing good so far...spsp2
