i have this quick question, to see if anyone has encountered this before
i bought a panasonic minidv camera. i capture thru fireware to DVIO, making a avi file. then i convert it to a dvd r disk, and when i play the video it is moving very fast and skippy, like ghosting, , but when you what it slow motion, and a slow motion clip , it doesnt do it at all. i have other files on there of home videos, but the miniDV is the only one doing it. Is there some codec that i have to use to encode it so it wont do that, or what... please help

This sounds like an interlace problem.
What software are you using to encode to MPEG2 ?
There should be an option in your encoder to change the field order prior to encoding.
In TMPGEnc I find the field order has to be "Top field first (field A)" or I get a similar shimmering effect.
