  1. I have an ATI All-in-One Wonder 32mb DDR agp card.

I am trying to capture an SVCD clip.

    What setting should I use?

I used that settings editor to make a custom setting and I set it to MPEG2 and 480x480 and the data rate to 2.45 Mbits...

Capture went through just fine... but when I try to burn it with Nero, I get an error about the stream encoding being invalid for SVCD...

What am I doing wrong? Could someone please help and tell me the correct settings for my ATI card for SVCDs?

    Thank in advance.

  2. Search this form -- I know you have to DeMultiplex and then Multiplex as SVCD ... or something like that

there have been numerous discussion on this - I don't know the answer I have just seen the posts ...

  3. I've seen the earlier posts, but all those people seemed to be in slightly different situations...

I do NOT want to edit my capture... all I want to do is capture and burn. the whole reason i decided to use this card was because it could capture in mpeg2 and I would not have to go through the time consuming process of re-encoding my captures...

Isn't there a way to capture it in the correct format in the first place?

  4. You capture most likely doesn't match the SVCD standard, just unclick 'make complaniant(sp)' and then try to load/burn it. As an aside, some DVD players have trouble ff/rew SVCDs burned with Nero. If you have this problem, try making an image of the MPEG file and then burning that. Making an image only takes a few mins.

  5. chill man, u dont have to re encode just re-mux, doesnt re-encode just takes the audio and video and joins it, and if u are too stubborn to go thru with the 15mins of muxing then spend $250 on a wintv pvr

The AIW doesn't capture mpeg2 as a compliant mpeg2 SVCD. It captures as an mpeg2 program stream. You have to demux/mux it to an mpeg2 SVCD program stream. The demux/mux take a few minutes and it is not an encoding process. If your lucky you'll not have any A/V sync problems after the demux/mux. If you do there are ways around it and you can search the forums for a fix.
