I have a problem. I have a AMD Athlon 2200+ with 512mb DDRAM so i should be pretty able to convert a dvd to svcd. But whatever i do, my pc tends to crash on CCE and TMPGenc when converting. Just suddenly halts. Any idea what im doing wrong or what i can do to stop this?

update. i just notied that both progrems tend to take 99 or 100% cpu time. Is that normal? I also must notice that i have WinXP SP1 installed. Maybe that messes things up? TMPG used to work fine before.

i found a sort of sollution. I downclocked my pc. Put the FSB lower and so my AMD2200+ turned into a AMD1500+ Takes a bit more but works. Only 1 thing i wondering. Im doing a 4 pass with DVD2SVCD. Now my CCE started on a conversion and after the 3 hours it went encoding again! now for 12 hours! Its now at 20% and already 800mb! is that normal? dont think so. I have Max Bitrate at 2100, Min Bitrate at 300 and Max AVG at 1800. Is that too high?
