  1. Just bought this damn thing and it seems it wont play back any CD-R Disks audio / VCD I have tried writing them in strict VCD format at 1X write speed still says it wont play ball.

    Any suggestions, or a recommendation for a DVD player that will play near enough what ever it is given.....

    why dont you try the huge list compiled by this website to the left under DVD Players, the columns list the types of VCD compatibility exhibited by the players. Also, I have a APEX AD-660, it is by far what I feel to be the best VCD/DVD player out there. The cost of this player is only 99 dollars at circuitcity.com. Lastly, please give details about what type of player you have before asking for help, and please try to examine the resources on this site before posting questions that are already answered within the site.
