i dont want buttons, menus or any crap, just want to put my 3 mpegs on a dvd-r and watch the movie without having to change discs.
i looked at all the 'vcd on dvd-r' guides and they dont cover this at all! they all assume you must have one huge freaking mpeg or something..
using SpruceUp i dont think its possible to do this. can you tell me if there is a way to do this maybe using ifoedit?
just to clarify: i want to load the disc and have it play each of the parts in succession, no menus or chapters or anything else is needed
thanks in advance
p.s: i know you have to re-encode the audio to 48KHz.. so dont say that
p.p.s: dont say 'use tmpg to merge the files', because i tried that and it has a ton of errors on playback (as i suspected it would)

DVDMaestro allows you to append mpg video streams. If you redo your audio streams to ac3 format, you can create a sync track that will keep your a/v in perfect sync.....

I've done this with SVCD's and I used DV Tool to join the mpg's. I find DV Tool much more reliable than Tmpeg for joining.

aha.. i was slighty ahead of you there, as i have indeed used DVTool (which i already had lying around in my tools folder) to merge the 3 mpa's and m1v's to film.m1v and film.mpa
but when i try and import the m1v into SpruceUp, it reaches 100% then nothing. by this i mean the file does not appear in the movies column, and it doesnt attempt to import the mpa. weird.. perhaps the file is too big or something? -
Ulead VideoStudio 6,ArcSoft Showbiz,Pinnacle Studio 8,etc.....just drop them in the timeline and burn to DVD(no menus but will be one big movie). If you want seperate movies I suggest Ulead MovieFactory,Sonic MyDVD,etc.

thanks for the advice, i was trying maestro just now and it wouldn't let me import my mpeg1 files.. only the audio
hopefully one of those you mentioned should do the job though -
ok, I'll try that if ulead is a no-go. thanks again.
edit: what is the audio processing like in ulead vid studio? i can make a 48KHz mpa by loading the 3 tracks. but if the quality sucks id rather go through the whole merge-demux thing again. -
ok, here are the problems i am now experiencing:
Merged MPEG created with DVTool creates a bad file, it won't de-multiplex properly in TMPG because it just sees the first file and only takes the data from that. ULead etc requires you to re-encode the file.. the whole purpose of this is to NOT have to do that.
Can someone PLEASE post their personal VERIFIED method of doing this if they have one, and please no more recommendations for software that force you to re-encode a file before burning.. -
I have done similar thing before. I had 6 vcd files (430 MB ea.) burnt onto a DVD+RW disc with menu. I don't have a stand alone DVD player. So, I didn't ssrc to 48khz. Anyway, it worked on my pc.
I used nero and created a huge vcd project and burnt onto a nero image drive. Then, I copied the entire contents of the image to a data dvd project (UDF).
