  1. Forgive me for writing this (as I should already know but do not).

If I have an mpeg1 compliant file.
    ie. 352x288
    25fps
    1150k/b
    224kb audio 44100khz
Which component would make it not compliant?
    ie. change resolution or fps
if the video bitrate increased would it still be compliant?

Or if any 1 of the components were altered?

Forgive the basicness of the question but just wondered
If tomorrow doesn`t exist where shall we all be the day after tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If any of them are changed 8)

    but you can change these
    352x288 , 25fps
    to
    352x240 29.97fps (NTSC)
    or
    352x240 23.976fps (NTSC film)

  3. Thanks for that kingjohn.

I use the pal sytem(in uk).
I have had trouble converting my vcd's into dvd compliant mpeg1 using tmpgenc.

Tmpgenc would not demux the full file(only 1/4) because the vcd's were done at higer video bitrates so I have had to re-encode to pal vcd for dvd compliance mpeg1.

Took abit of time but got the method in the end.

    Cheers and good day

  4. improper multiplexing will do this. Goto mpg tools>merge cut. Select your file. Specify path and filename, then at the top choose video cd as system.

    then press run.

  5. duhmez.

Will this method take a .dat file off CD and remux it with video AND audio intact, because the dat file would need to be demuxed first in order to remux surely?

If it will that would be great and save me alot of time

    Cheers for your response

Yes i sometimes get mpeg 1 files which are a little out, and streaming it through TMPGEnc Merge&Cut fixes the problem.

1145kbps to 1150kbps, dont know how much it will do, never tried it.
