Just a quick question.
I'm thinking of buying a Digital DVD Recorder that has built in FreeView.
The Recorder also has 1080p HD Upscaling built in.
I was wondering, if I was to watch FreeView via the Recorder as opposed to my HD TV, would the picture upscale?
It definitely upscales DVDs but I'm not sure if it would work on FreeView picture.
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Most likely not. Upscaling is typically only for DVD playback in most units.

If you record the Freeview to a DVd then it will.
Do you have a FULL HD TV and is your recoder connected via hdmi or component. Your tv should upscale SD material anyway.
AFAIK DVD's look good when upscaled because they are from a very clean noise free source with a reasonable bitrate, whereas freeview varies,
main channels 12345 and film4 are quite good(bitrate & quality) but most of the other sub-channels use lower bitrates and are less clean.Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.
