    Capture Cards..

    They're all good:
    * ati tv wonder (pci) - $49
    * wintv go - $49 ~ $69 shop for best p
    * ati rage fury pro (agp) - $59 ~ $79
    * ati all.in.wonder (video graphics card and capture, in one package)
    * DC10+ - $49 ~ $129 (hardware MJPEG avi's)
    * more..

    An AGP video graphics card (GC) will help w/ a little or slight increase in
    capture performance - it wont hurt to use an AGP GC instead.

    All the above will work good. But the key to satisfaction:
    * A, skill level - (a beginner will have problems in the beginning)
    * B, pc setup - mb, cpu, chipset, IRQ issues, hd specs (5400 min)
    * C, patiance - what level are you?
    * D, capture soft - ie, AVI_IO or VDUB or Other
    * E, BIOS - what's your settings set to, ect.
    * F, Driver - what version your OS is using
    * G, OS - w98 / w98SE / ME / w2k / XP
    * H, HD - size, partition, FAT, DMA, Prim/Second'ry, own or shared, networked..
    * I, your eye - what you see vs. what others see (or considers) as quality, etc.
    * J, card - which one (above list) will work in your system w/ out or minimum
    .... issues will depend on B and a little of A, D, E, F, G and H

    Again, all the above will work good. It's up to the user (you) to prove it
    or loose it. I have used all the above cards and then some, plus DV devices $$$
    Anyways, the above analog capture cards will require some setup headackes in some
    systems. I've had my share with all of them for the longest of time, but in the
    end, they all pretty much produce similar ouput quality in captures.

    The best I could live with in a ECS K7S5A w/ XP 1800+ setup and w/out
    any IRQ conflics and framedrops, is the WTVGO and DC10+
    These cards proved themselves worthy of high scores. But, it don't mean that
    these two will work w/ those same high scores in YOUR pc setup. So, keep an
    open mind on this point.

    Good luck.
