I am in England and use PAL format and use CVD. But i dont like the 352 x 576. I have been capping at 352 x 480. Will this be dvd compliant for PAL?

Because it's the wrong size! 352x576 will be PAL. 352x480 will be NTSC and so you'll have to use a different frame rate if you want it to work. Which will make your capture jerky and look like arse, unless you're taking it from an NTSC source to start with (25 into 24 or 30 does NOT go, unless you can properly slow your stuff down a few percents to fit 24 - tricky and/or time consuming).
Though of course you could cap at 480 and then letterbox it out to 576 to remain standard compliant, if the squishing isn't a problem (or you can set your capper to only capture lines 48 to 528). Or resize it back to 576 for burn, so long as interlacing artefacts don't show up.
What's so wrong with 352x576 anyway?

(d'oh-eth comment about 'stuff out there' removed now i've realised the front page has dumped me in the Capture forum)
