MPG Converted from Xvid DivX freezes at first frame

When converting Xvid Mpeg4 divX to SVCD with TMPGEnc, it converts without any error messages but when playing back the MPG, it freezes at the first frame, but the sound continues. The avi playback without any problems. Tried checking the avi in Vdub with no bad frames. I have had this problem with several Xvid avi, please help me out Have searched the forum without any luck.

Hi again

Tried what you suggested throug the guide, but nothing helps. Tried to burn the mpg as SVCD and it plays ok at standalone DVD. BUT the movie is jumpy in the scenes. Not like when it is wrong frame rate. It is very fine small jumps, like every 1/3 sec. I never have problems converting and burning other avi/mpg. I have Nemo codec pack and Xvid codec installed.

Any other suggestions is very appreciated.
