  1. Hi,

How do I implement/turn off macrovision on the Walmart Apex 500w? Currently I have a TV/VCR combo in my room that i'm using the Apex with. Yes i know this isn't a great setup. Anyhow, what do I need to turn off macrovision? I'm not even sure if TV/VCR combo influence the quality of a DVD/SVCD compare to a normal TV hookup without vcr connected.

Do I need a mod chip or there's a firmware that involves a cdr burn that plays in the apex and fixes the macrovision.
I preferred using the cdr method if there exist one. Or perhaps i'm confuse, and you need a mod chip + cdr to fix macrovision.

Any help appreciated, and perhaps a link to the pertinent
firmware or if mod chip is the only solution.

  2. You are correct. You need a modified firmware chip and that's all. Been looking around for some great places to get one from but haven't found any that I would trust getting them from. If you do let me know.
