I have a problem i can encode and record vcd's no problem and the all play back fine on my pc but when i use them in my yamaha dvd mostly all of them are stuttering beyond belief and audio cuts out. Some of my discs are fine but the last 4-5 i have burned all skip. I use nero to burn and i am currently using some white lable cdr 80mins. I never thought about the media being the problem but its the only possibility left as i have even burned them a 2x which is a slight improvement but still unplayable. I dont think its my dvd cos it plays back certain vcd's fine. Any suggestions on media and some confirmation if it is the media which is the problem would be nice.

Try different brands to see what works best for you. Different brand cd's work better on different players then others, and what works for me may or may not work for you. I've had good luck with namebrands (Maxell, Imation, etc) but bad luck with store brands (CompUSA, etc).

Princo~~~ Works on most DVD players that won't read anything else. It also cheap about 35-40 cents canadian which is about 22-27 cents us. Used over 5000 so far for vcds.

I find the best brands of CD-R for VCD are Verbatim and Fuji (The Ones Made by Taiyo Yuden, though).
Hope That Helps!!!:P
