Ok, I hope there are a good amount of replies to this post furnishing information regarding the last chapter freezing on certain people. Or there players go crazy on the last chapter of certain movies. I had this problem CONSTANTLY with NERO, and I was under the impression that this problem was exclusive to NERO and NERO only because from what I had read, everyone else that had this problem, also had used some version of Nero. So I have been using RecordNowMax, and EVERY single movie that Nero caused the last chapter freeze in, I redid by burning with RecordNowMax, and I no longer had the last chapter freeze. One thing I noticed though, was that at first, I thought it was a bad disk, as I had never noticed this problem before, and when I burned Ferris Bueller's day off with Nero I thought it was a bad disk, so I burned it again WITH NERO, and I noticed that the very last chapter DID NOT freeze the second time around, so I thought I was right. But I decided to forward through ALL of the ending credits, and sure enough, about half way through, I got the very same freezing, at least this was on the credits, but it was still annoying. After I finally realized it was Nero, I used RecordNow Max, and guess what? Now Freezing anywhere! I thought Great! Well, that was until yesterday. I ripped and encoded Minority Report, NTSC, very simple movie to do, but when I got to chapter 20, I had the exact same FREEZE AND SKIPPING! To say I was pissed was an understatement. RecordNowMax was used to burn Minority Report, so I guess the problem is not exclusive to Nero. However, I got the problem MUCH more often with Nero, but to get the problem at all is a waste of time and money with a DVD blank. Now I haven't done enough tests yet, but it appears that this problem is mainly on the DVD+R's that I have burned. I use Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R's. And it is only about 1 in 10 that this happens to using RecordNowMax. I was about 1 in 5 using Nero. The burner I am using is the Sony DRU500a.

If anyone has more information on why this occurs, please reply. Also, anyone else that has had this problem, please post what burner you are using, what media you are using, and what type, either (+) or (-). This had cost me too many coasters, and I am fortunate that it probably hasn't cost me even more then that. I think if everyone posts on this we can figure out what is causing it and how to rectify it. I have a hunch that it has something to do with (+) media though.
