    Maybe this might be a strange question but would it be possible to compress a Mpeg movie by making the size go smaller?

    mpeg is already a very compressed format ... to compress it more you have to lower the bit rate ...

    even zipping most mpeg files doesnt do to much ...

    How do i lower the bit rate with mpeg movies? If i lower the bit rate on a mpeg movie will the quality of the picture be rubbish?

    not nessessarly ... for example svcds are 2500bit rate apx .. and are often made from 8000 +/- bit rate dvd's ------ but still look very good (ussually)
