Right thanks to the feedback i've had, i've managed to sort out any errors i've been getting and make things run a lot smoother now. But i am still having one last problem, and i can't for the life of me work out why it is happening. Im hoping some one else can shed some light on this.

I have the M2V, AC3, Chapter List all sorted out my problem is with the subtitles.

Im using SubRip to make the subtitles. I'll walk you through what im doing to make it clear what i am doing:-

I open it up, click on 'Show subtitle text window' then check that the output format is set as 'Spruce DVDMaestro(*.son)' format, then click on convert to this format (just to make sure).

Next i click 'Open Decrypted Vob' then i click on the 'Open IFO' button and choose the Ifo file (which automaticly loads the Vob file)
Next i check 'save subpictures as BMP' is selected then i click start.

I choose a name for the subtitles, and click save. The colour box now pops up and i click on 'Ok'. All the subtitles will then flash away on the screen and save to BMP files.

When this is complete i click 'File' > 'Save as' and save the text file into the same place as the subtitles. Then close subrip.

I next open dvd maestro, load my M2v and AC3 streams drag my M2v into teh video section, drag my AC3 into the audio section then right click it and select 'Create Sync Audio Track', here i click on the video stream at the top then click 'Assign Audio File' choose the audio file from my hard drive then click 'Create Audio File' this then processes for a while and asks to replace the current audio stream to whick i click 'Ok'.

Next i add my Chapters file by right clicking in the chapter area and clicking 'Import chapter list'.

next i import my subtitles by right clicking in the subtitle area and clicking 'Import subtitles file'.

It imports the files (or so it says) it pops up saying '656 subtitles, imported' this is a little strange because there are 1994 subtitles saved by subrip, i have looked at the first subtitle imported, found it's number from the pictures and found where that picture is in the text file and it seems like it is ignoring all subtitles up until the film has played for 1 hour and then importing every subtitle after then, except it is not placing them at the correct place in the movie, the time stamp of where they should be is like 1 hour wrong!! so at the very begining of the move i have got all these subtitles from 1 hour into the move and onwards and then nothing after that!!!!

i am driving myself mad trying to find out why this is happening but i cannot seem to find a solution, i have been looking at many many tutorials, and it seems i am doing the correct thing, but it just won't seem to work!!

I am desperately seeking some help here.

Is there any one that has no trouble importing subtitles into Maestro? if so could you please tell me the exact procedure you use to rip the subtitles and how you import them into the movie.

If it makes any odds i am trying to backup, Rush Hour 1.

I would really really appreciate any help that anyone can give me on this matter.

Please please do try and help even if you think it won't hep please post as i am driving myself crazy trying to get it working!!

    Cheers to everyone who reply's
    Many thanks
    Matt

I thought this might be a useful post for any one having problems with the subtitles in maestro.

I haven't tried it yet as i've only just read it and i need to finish work and go home before i can try it, but.

It would seem that when DVD Decrypter opens up a DVD it chooses the largest files which are most likely the movie.

for example in the DVD the files may look like this:

    VTS_01_1.IFO 68,000kb <--Selected
    VTS_01_0.VOB 36,000kb
    VTS_01_1.VOB 1,024,000kb <--Selected
    VTS_01_2.VOB 1,024,000kb <--Selected
    VTS_01_3.VOB 1,024,000kb <--Selected
    VTS_01_4.VOB 536,256kb <--Selected

It will select the Ifo file and all of the large Vob files (and the last smaller one) but what it does not do is select the first vob file which is very small (VTS_01_0.VOB) and apparently that is why this happens, so i'll try this tonight and see if it works, if it does then, i'll post to let everyone know!
