  1. Hi, Just bought a pioneer dvr 105 & having a problem.
I`ve got a batch of mpegs from my mini DV cam (PAL) which i encoded from the original DV tapes with CCE 2.64. for DVDR

settings used in CCE are - Bottom field (DV) - 6000 CBR, Noise filter off, quality setting 20 - DVD compliant.

I authored the mpegs with spuce up then burned to dvdr with record now max.

Ok, so if i play the burned DVD on my PC dvd drive using power DVD - Fine, but play on my standalone (Dansai 1010) the movements in panning across the picture - no matter how slow, give a ghostly shadow (may be splitting of the fields) effect.- looks like i`m seeing double - or very drunk !
Same thing happens if i play on my chipped PS2
Have also tried two different brands of dvdr & a dvdrw.

    Any ideas ?

  2. Try re-encoding a shorter clip, but with UPPER FIELD first. Also, you might want to do this on RW, that way, you can undo your disc.

Happened to me, and UPPER FIELD did the trick. But that's for CCE only. I'm doing lower field first on TMPGENC.

It looks like the developers of CCE had a misunderstanding of the words UPPER and LOWER. Maybe they had different orientation.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Yes, this worked, Thanks for the tip - the fields order thing with CCE being different to tmpgenc did cause the confusion.
    Cheers !
