  1. Hello,

I have a XP machine with avid dv 3.5. I am looking to author my own work onto dvd. From everything I read here I know that DVDMaestro is the best software to use but is no longer available. Is there any place that sells old software? I checked e-bay, no luck. Does anyone have any ideas or is would like to sell a copy?

    Please Help.

  2. You can still obtain DVD Virtuoso if you buy it with a Canopus Amber hardware MPEG2 encoding card. If you wish to buy a more advanced version of the Spruce authoring software, such as Conductor (perhaps with the PowerPack), or even the full Maestro, then you will have to buy secondhand. On rare occassions, I have seen Spruce workstations offered on the WWUG forums. Be warened that, even secondhand, this software will set you back several thousand dollars, and will probably only be solfd to you as a complete workstation, since this is how it was sold originally. These workstations are now like gold dust, unfortunately.

You'll have to hunt around a bit to find a current retailer of the Amber/Virtuoso package. I've provided one German link for it, below:

    And some more info here:

    Arky ;o)
