  1. Hi,
I'm trying to author a dvd in DVDMaestro and i'm having trouble figuring out how to write a Command Sequence.

I want to make a DVD where when a button is pressed on the main menu it will then play 1 random video chosen from a choice of 7 possibilities, and then when that video has finished it will continue on to the main movie.

The part i'm stuck at is writing the command sequence, i've already searched other forums and read the manual thoroughly but can't get it to work, even after many hours of trial and error and error and error.

I found a site that i thought had the answer but it's for DVD Studio Pro, i tried writing the code like the guy said but still no luck

    http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/tutorials/dvd-random/index.shtml

I ended up with something that looked similar to this but not exactly since it's not the same program, although i think i read that DVD Studio Pro was based on Maestro, it didn't work either way.

I have absolutely no idea how to write script or code so if someone could help me with this i'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance!!

It's actually written the same way if i recall just using the DVD maestro commands, instead could you post your script from DVD Maestro so i can take a look. I don't have it installed on my system anymore for must things DVDlab Pro works just fine and is a hell of a lot easier to use.

  3. Thanks for replying, here's what i put in, sorry if the images are a bit big, i wanted to show you all the boxes i chose, it really is trial and error for me. The funny thing is, i just got it to work using these values, but the difference this time was that the button i activated the sequence from was in a menu as opposed to a video with buttons over video, which is what i was trying to do before, do you have any idea why this would make a difference, and would it be possible to do using BOV?

I was also trying to use DVDlab Pro 2.51 as well, since it has a function that creates random scripts automatically just by adding movies to a list, it's a neat feature, but kinda useless for me since DVDlab Pro always gives me an Out Of Memory error whenever i try to use more than 6 VTS's, i know i have enough memory and lots of other people seem to have this problem, have you ever encountered it and if so do you know how it could be fixed, if it wasnt for the VTS limit it would be a perfect program,

Once again, thanks for replying, i've been trying to figure out this thing for days

Script looks good,i beleive it should work on a bov as well,. a button is a button after all. The randomize function is pretty straight forward.I'll see if i can find my manual and do a little reading up on it.

  6. I think that when i tried the randomizer tool in DVDlab Pro it was activated from a BOV, and it worked that time, of course the script is written automatically there, so maybe with maestro it needs a little tweaking if it's to be used with BOV, i really have no idea, writing script or code is way beyond me, obviously :P

    Thanks again for your help!!
