Hello all.

I have had my WinTV Go PCI card a few days, and decided it may help my captures if I replaced my $25 sound card with a Soundblaster Live.

Thus today I bought and installed this card.

Now, whenever I capture/view off of the composite input, the audio to the line in is left channel only. I know the card is mono capture, but with my old card this was not the problem. My VCR's composite audio out is a single output, not right and left. I have the RCA cable connected to the little Radio Shack composite-to-mic adapter. This plugs into the WinTV, and then the WinTV outputs to the line in on my SB Live.

How do I solve my problem? Is there some setting I'm missing that will fix this for me? I guess there's a way to fix a captured file with VirtualDub but I would like it done before that step, during the capture itself. I just don't understand why I didn't have the problem with the cheap sound card.

I was doing well until today...I've learned so much about video capture from this site and others. I just am really stumped on this one.

By the way...here is the one idea I have, which may be idiotic:

Split my VCR's single audio composite out with a y cable; buy a different Radio Shack adapter, one which has a Right and Left audio to mic.

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Dale
