  1. I have a PCTV Rave, and I my default drivers limit the vertical resolution to 288. So I have tried the ones of http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/ and they capture up to 576, but my problem is that some rapid movements get a loooooooooooooot of motion blur...
This is capturing with virtual dub...
In iuVCR I can capture at 576 with the original drivers (I dont know why) but the same problem ocur...

    Someone can help?

If no one can solve my problem I will have to capture at 288 and resize to 576

    Thanks

  2. I have a Pinnacle PCTV.
Have you tried the 5.10 / 5.20 drivers from pinnacle?
I use them with IuVCR with no problems...

By the way have you tried "set custom format" in virtualdub with the "normal" drivers?
With this option you can set any resolution you want, with any driver you have.

  4. The best drivers for virtualdub are the 4.xx ones...
But they donīt work very good with WinXP/2000.
If you use Win 95/98/98se/ME i recommend you use that driver.
    They are great for virtualdub.
But for Win2k/XP the best are the 5.10/5.20 drivers with IuVCR.

  6. While looking at the Comments for the Pinnacle PCTV under Capture Cards one user stated that other software and drivers should be used in place of the Pinnacle software and drivers for better performance.

Does anyone here know about these replacement software and drivers?
I belive the user that made the comment was Sie Plake.

I have just downloaded the Pinnacle update for this card and am about to test it.

If there are alternatives to Pinnacle's software and drivers I would like to test them.

  7. Stevendee try http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/ they work good with virtual dub.

I have solved the problem of motion blur, I have investigated that in scenes with fast moving objects, you got more interlace, and if you deinterlace with blending fields, you will got motion blur. The solution resides in using a filter like smart deinterlace. I dont know very well what it does but you got near perfect image in all scenes.

Sourceforge drivers do NOT work for me. They only let me cap at 25 fps, and for an NTSC source this doens't work.

What codec are you capping to? What resolution? Huffyuv is probably your best bet. You can NOT capture to DivX or XviD and expect the end result to be viewable unless it's single pass and low res.
